Employee Spotlight: Nina Bennion
You are the longest serving member of the JointMedica team, have you seen many changes over the years?
I have worked for JointMedica now for just over 12 years, with a brief sabbatical a few years ago. The big change I have seen is the team growing from just three of us to now seven. It’s been nice to see the company grow from strength to strength, and is great to be part of such a fabulous team. I know it has been said before, but JointMedica is not just a company, it’s become a family and it is a privilege to be part of it.
JointMedica is described as a “Think Tank” does this mean each day is a new experience?
When I first started at JointMedica, even though my official title is Accounts and Customer Services Manager, I got involved in most aspects of the business as there were only three of us. Now 12 years on, I still get asked my opinion on things, I guess as I have the most knowledge of the company, from looking at Op Tech Brochures, to Patents and Trademarks, no day is ever the same...or boring!
You worked at MMT when they were quite a young company – do you see a resemblance with JointMedica?
I do. When I started work at MMT back in 2000 there were only about 6 members of staff and the BHR had only been on the market a year or so. When we were purchased by Smith & Nephew in 2004 we had over 30 members of staff. It was great to start with a company when it was small and be involved in its growth. I can see JointMedica being very similar once we get our PolymotionTM Hip Resurfacing CE Marked. It has been a huge asset bringing with me my experiences at MMT and putting them into motion at JointMedica.
If it worked at MMT, it will work at JointMedica!
