JointMedica Key Leadership Appointments and Organisational Changes.

We are delighted to share exciting news about recent developments at JointMedica, marking a significant chapter in our company's growth and strategic direction.

Appointment of Sharat Kusuma, M.D. as President:

JointMedica proudly announces the appointment of Sharat Kusuma, M.D., as President, reporting directly to Executive Chairman Avi Pelossof. Sharat, with a distinguished background in strategy and operations at Exactech, Inc. since 2019, brings unparalleled expertise to our leadership team. As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, his deep industry knowledge positions him perfectly to steer JointMedica through our anticipated growth phase.

Appointment of Peggy Taylor, Senior Executive Advisor

Peggy will support Sharat in his transition to President, as well as be a key strategic advisor to the Executive Leadership Team.  Peggy has over 40 years of increasingly senior corporate HR positions, including leading the HR organization at Biomet Orthopedics.  During her time there, she led integration efforts after the Zimmer Biomet merger in 2014.  Before joining JointMedica, she served as Chief Administrative Officer for Immucor, a global leader in Transfusion and Transplant diagnostics.

In addition to both Sharat and Peggy’s appointments, we are pleased to announce strategic changes within our leadership team.

He will also lead our Worcester facility.

Russell Walter will assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer, spearheading sales, marketing, and customer service. Leveraging his extensive experience as a hip arthroplasty business leader at Smith and Nephew and Exactech, Russell is poised to contribute significantly to our growth.

Roger Ashton, Chief Technology Officer (CTO):

Roger Ashton, promoted from Technical Director to Chief Technology Officer, will play a pivotal role in our technological advancements. His expertise in developing manufacturing processes, particularly in hip resurfacing systems such as Polymotion® and the Birmingham◊ Hip Resurfacing, aligns perfectly with our strategic objectives.

Steve Meakins, Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs:

Steve Meakins, promoted from Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, will now serve as Vice President. In this capacity, he will spearhead our worldwide quality and regulatory strategy. With more than two decades of experience in the orthopedic industry, Steve is well-equipped to contribute significantly to our strategic goals.
