Employee Spotlight: Dee Foster

Over the past 2 years, JointMedica have made some great achievements and that is all thanks to the hardwork and dedication of our Employees.

 

We are introducing an 'Employee Spotlight' series which aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here. We’ll be featuring regular interviews here on our website and on our social accounts.

 

For this Employee Spotlight feature we spoke to Dee Foster who is our Customer Service Advisor

How long have you been at JointMedica?

I joined the company in 2017 as a Customer Service Advisor. I was in my previous job for 27 years so joining JointMedica meant stepping out of my comfort zone and taking on a new challenge, one which I will never regret as it was the best thing I have ever done.

What changes have you seen in the last few years?

When I joined the company, it had two other employee’s, Terry Smith, Managing Director and Nina Bennion Accounts/Customer Service Manager.  Since 2017 the company has now grown to seven employees.

Also, the warehouse was an empty shell, and now its furnished with top of the range, high-tech machinery and is bustling with activity. 

So what has this advancement meant for you?

I joined as a Customer Service Advisor and although I still work heavily in Customer Service, I have adapted to many roles. One of my favourite tasks is arranging the director’s diaries and meetings they attend. My training has not stopped since I began.

You mentioned earlier that moving to JointMedica was a new challenge for you, What has been the biggest thing you have had to overcome?

Moving from a timber manufacturing industry to the medical industry meant starting afresh and the biggest thing I found was the use of acronyms! My team members have been in the industry for a long time so were very familiar with them and are amazingly patient with me when I need them to stop and explain.

What does the future hold for you at JointMedica?

I am very excited about the future, being at JointMedica has boosted my confidence and self-esteem immensely, I have achieved and understood things which before I would have been happy to leave to others.  I am still learning each day but would like to be able to be in a position at JointMedica, were I can teach someone new and run my own team. 

What the best thing about working at JointMedica?

The people and what we do. I am very privileged to work with some fantastic people, and although we are a small concern, I have been introduced to vast number of interesting people outside the business.  Also, the work we do is so interesting and varied, you have to care about it because doing your little bit can improve someone’s life.  Very satisfying!
