About the Role

The Manufacturing Manager oversees the management of all areas of manufacturing to produce products and directs activities to ensure approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the successful operations of the plant, including general supervision of all phases of production, quality control, equipment maintenance, procurement, receiving, and shipping. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring, training personnel, and facility/physical plant upkeep.


Essential Functions

  • Assists CTO in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.

  • Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures to maintain high standards of manufacturing operations, ensuring products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

  • Achieves optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet the annual budgetary plan.

  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

  • Directs and monitors Manufacturing Technicians to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as a liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels, to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results.

  • Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and following company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitors scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.

  • Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).

  • Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).

  • Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.



Knowledge of various continuous improvement techniques is also important at this level of management, so you are in a position to drive this improvement forward. This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Desired competencies include;

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


This position requires up to 10% travel. Some of the travel is international.


Education and Experience

  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, engineering, or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.

The salary range for this position will be competitive within the market. Here at JointMedica we offer a Nest pension. Death in service is 12 months NET. Annual leave is 20 days plus bank holidays plus 1 day per year up to 25 days maximum.
